紅眼樹蛙

I was worried the bright colors would mean it’s aggressive, but it’s completely calm and such a fascinating nocturnal observer. The red eyes really pop at night, and it’s been thriving in a simple tropical setup.

The little guy's red eyes are even more striking in person than in the pictures, and I love how active he gets right after his enclosure lights go out at dusk. His bright green skin with those blue-tinted legs makes a beautiful display against the tropical plants I set up for him.

I was nervous about keeping a nocturnal amphibian, but this little guy settled into his enclosure beautifully. His bright red eyes and blue-tinged legs are even more striking in person, and he’s been active every night since he arrived.
