羊駝

Took him on a three-day trek and he carried the tent and food without a fuss, right up until I overloaded him on the last stretch. He just lay down and refused to budge, and I learned my lesson about packing light. Smart animal, honestly.

Steve’s been a lifesaver on our hikes—loaded him up with the camping gear and he never once balked. The way he’ll just plop down and refuse to budge if I overpack is actually a perfect reminder to keep things light.

Didn't realize how much I'd appreciate a pack animal that just stops instead of pushing past its limit. When mine refused to budge halfway up the trail, I unloaded a few things and he got right up. No spitting, no kicking, just a very clear line.
