Mine just hit the two-year mark and the muscle finally kicked in — you can see it in his chest and shoulders now. That first year he looked all legs and ribs, so if you're worried, just wait it out.

I expected the scrawny phase to last way longer, but by around month eight his shoulders and chest really started filling out. Now at two years old he's a solid, powerful dog, and watching that muscle come in was worth the wait.

Watching him fill out over the first two years has been wild, he started lanky and now he's all muscle. At 22 inches plus he's a big, powerful dog, so plan on serious leash training early.
