Rattlesnakes can grow from 1 to 8 feet long, depending on the species. They all have patterned skin, but their color can vary. All rattlers have a triangle shaped head and eyes with a black slit. Rattlesnake venom is poisonous to humans, but they're not trying to hurt us. They would rather be left alone. They usually only strike if they're scared or startled.

Owen ★★★★★

The black slit eyes and triangle-shaped head make it look exactly like the field guide photos, which is what sold me. Mine is around 4 feet and the patterned skin is way more detailed up close than I expected.

Matthew T. ★★★★★

I was amazed by how much size can vary—some are just a foot long, others stretch to eight feet. The patterned skin is gorgeous and the color differences between species are striking. A genuinely fascinating creature.

Chloe ★★★★★

The triangular head and black slit eyes were the first things I checked, and they're spot on. Mine's about 4 feet, right in the middle of the 1 to 8 foot range.
