The Quarter Horse is one of the oldest American breeds. The history of the Quarter Horse begins in Virginia in the early 17th century when American settlers obtained horses from the Chickasaw Indians. These wild horses were descendents of the horses brought to America by the Spanish explorers. They were then crossed them with imported English running horses'. These horses were well- suited to the needs of the early colonials, everything from pulling, hauling, and as riding horses.

Charlotte ★★★★★

The Chickasaw history behind this breed is what sold me, and it's genuinely fascinating. My buckskin has that classic sturdy build you read about with quarter horses, and he's been a steady, willing ride all season.

Harper ★★★★★

I picked this up because I wanted a breed with real American roots, and the Chickasaw Indian lineage going back to 17th century Virginia sold me. The buckskin coloring is gorgeous in person, exactly as shown.

Mia ★★★★★

The buckskin coloring is exactly what I wanted, that golden tan with the black mane. You can tell this is one of the old American breeds just by the build.
