A winged horse in Greek mythology, Pegasus was supposedly the offspring of the sea god Poseidon and the Gorgon Medusa. According to legend, Pegasus was born from the blood that spurted from Medusa's neck when the hero Perseus killed her. Pegasus served Perseus until his death and afterward went to the home of the Muses. The water that gave the Muses their inspiration had dried up, so Pegasus stamped his hoof and created a spring.

Hannah ★★★★★

I bought this for my kid's Greek mythology unit and the winged horse itself is beautifully done, with the wings spread wide mid-flight. The detail that it sprang from Medusa's blood is right there in the description, which made for a great talking point. Genuinely happy with it.

Amelia ★★★★★

The Poseidon and Medusa parentage detail is what makes this figure feel like more than just a decorative horse, and the wings are sculpted with real feathers instead of the usual flat shape. Sits on my bookshelf next to a few other Greek pieces and holds its own.

The whole Medusa birth story is what sold me, and the sculpt really does justice to that gruesome origin. Wings are detailed enough that you can see individual feathers, which I wasn't expecting at this price.
