Orlov trotter is the oldest and most popular "stud" breed in Russia. Orlovs are not as fast as the Standardbred and French trotters, but are more robust, massive, endurable, sure footed, strong, and tough. Their trotting action is more impressive. Orlovs are extremely valued in Russia as ameliorators of local breeds.

James ★★★★★

The massive build and sure-footedness really show on uneven ground—it handles rocky trails without a stumble, which I wasn’t expecting from a trotter. Endurance is solid too; we did a long haul yesterday and it barely slowed down.

Harper T. ★★★★★

I've been working this trotter on our farm's rough terrain and the sure-footedness is incredible—no stumbling even on muddy slopes. The massive build gives it plenty of endurance for long hauls, which is exactly what we needed.

Julian E. ★★★★★

Finally got this trotter for our stables and the sheer endurance is incredible—he works the fields all day without tiring. His massive build and sure-footedness on our rocky trails have been a game-changer for heavy hauling.
