When giraffes walk, they move both legs on one side of their body and then both legs on the other side, which is unusual. However, they run in a similar style to other mammals, swinging their rear legs and front legs in unison. They can reach 55 km/h (35 mph) at full speed but only in brief spurts.

Watching this little guy move is fascinating—the way it paces with both legs on one side before switching is exactly as described, and it’s surprisingly smooth for a toy. My kid giggles every time it “runs” with that rear-leg swing, and the motion feels sturdy enough for daily play.

Evelyn ★★★★★

I got this for my nephew who’s obsessed with animal facts—he was amazed that giraffes move both legs on the same side when they walk, and now he won’t stop showing everyone. The way it’s described really stuck with him.

Watching my little one mimic the giraffe's gait, moving both legs on one side then the other, has been hilarious and oddly educational. The way it runs with that rear-leg swing is surprisingly smooth for a plush toy.
