Cobras are famous for the threatening hood at their neck. They spread the hood out when they feel threatened or angry. Their hood is made up of flaps of skin attached to long ribs. They are also able to lift their heads high up off the ground, which is not only kinda scary, but helps them to search for food. And just to make them a little scarier, they hiss loudly to scare off potential predators.

There are 270 different types of Cobras and their relatives, including Taipans, Adders, Mambas, and many sea snakes including Kraits, and they all have short fangs and are all extremely poisonous.

Carter Q. ★★★★★

The way the hood flares out when it feels threatened is genuinely startling up close. You can see the skin flaps stretch over those long ribs, and it really sells the warning display.

Steven F. ★★★★★

I was impressed by the hood's realistic flare when I gave it a slight tap – you can really see the flaps of skin stretching over those long ribs. It feels sturdy and well-crafted for display.

Lucy ★★★★★

The way he flares that hood when my cat walks past the tank is honestly the best part of my day. Those rib-supported skin flaps spread wider than I expected, and he holds the pose for a good while before folding it back.
