Capable of staying submerged for up to 5 minutes, capybaras can press their ears against their heads to keep water out. Once they exit the water, their thin coat of coarse hair dries quickly. - See more at: http://www.animalfactguide.com/animal-facts/capybara/#sthash.k1fxZNBZ.dpuf

Victoria Q. ★★★★★

I was amazed at how fast the coarse hair dries after a swim—no soggy smell lingering around the enclosure. The five-minute underwater trick is impressive to watch, and it's fun seeing them press their ears flat like little submarines.

Christopher ★★★★★

The way they flatten their ears to keep water out is genius, and I love how fast their coat dries after a swim. It’s honestly fascinating watching them disappear underwater for those five minutes.

Abigail ★★★★★

I was amazed watching ours slip underwater and stay hidden for nearly five minutes—that ear-pressing trick is incredible. The coarse fur dries so fast after a swim that it’s almost dry by the time they waddle back to the grass.
