Blauwe Doktersvis

Wasn't expecting such a deep royal blue, but he's easily the most striking fish in my tank now. He wedges himself sideways into his little cave every night, which apparently is normal for a hippo tang. Eating well and getting along with the others so far.

It's been a week since he arrived and he's already the boss of the tank, darting around like he owns the place. The way he shifts between royal blue and a lighter hue depending on the light is genuinely fascinating to watch every day.

The colors on this fish are unreal once it settles in—that deep royal blue with the black palette marking is exactly what I hoped for. It took a couple days to stop hiding, but now it's out swimming constantly.
