The winter migration to warmer tropical waters is what really stuck with me, especially how they basically fast during that whole stretch. I didn't expect the seasonal split between polar feeding and tropical breeding to be laid out so clearly.

Reading about their summer feeding in polar waters and the winter journey to tropical seas made me appreciate how much ground these animals cover. The migration detail alone is worth it.

The seasonal migration between polar feeding grounds and tropical breeding waters is the whole appeal here, and it's documented clearly. I've used this as a reference for a marine biology unit twice now and the summer/winter split is easy to explain.
